Aftercare
Ten minutes in the warm room, then the cold well if you like it.

Deep Vessel is the treatment for people who arrive able to point at the problem. It trades coverage for depth: instead of moving through the whole body, your therapist spends the hour on the one or two regions you name, and goes as far into them as the tissue will allow in a single session.

The first ten minutes are diagnostic. Your therapist will ask you to move — a shoulder through its range, a hip through a rotation — and will watch where the movement stops and what compensates for it. Almost always the sore place and the responsible place are different, and the hour goes to the responsible one. That can be surprising if you came in for your neck and spend forty minutes face-down while someone works your mid-back.

The work itself uses forearms and elbows more than thumbs, which lets a therapist apply real depth without the sharpness that makes you brace against it. You will be asked to breathe out on the slow passes. Bracing is the thing that undoes this treatment, so speak up early and often; the pressure you can breathe through is the pressure that changes something, and the pressure you have to grip the table for is wasted on both of us.

Expect to be sore the following day in the way you are sore after training — diffuse, warm, gone by the second morning. We recommend the warm room afterwards rather than the bench, and the cold well only if you already enjoy it. If a complaint has been with you longer than a season, one hour will improve it and three across six weeks will change it; we will say so rather than sell you the single session twice.
